Frequently asked questions

What must online stores show since 27 September 2026?

For smartphones and slate tablets, the repairability class A to E from the EU energy label. For all other goods, information on spare parts, repair and maintenance manuals and repair restrictions (Article 6(1)(u) and (v) of Directive 2011/83/EU, inserted by Directive (EU) 2024/825). Where do I find the EPREL registration number?

In the user manual or product documents, as a number, link or QR code, and in the product information sheet. With the number, the EPREL lookup shows class and index. How to find it

What if the manufacturer provides nothing?

You owe the repair information only to the extent the manufacturer makes it available. Record when you asked. Whether this also applies when you are the manufacturer, own brand or importer is not settled. More

Is the French index the same as the EU class?

No. The French repairability index is a national score for France; the class A to E comes from the EU energy label. Whether its spare parts data can serve as repair information elsewhere is an open question. France explained
