Spare parts period calculator

Choose the product group and enter the date of the last unit: see until when spare parts must be available, for repairers and for end users.

Minimum periods under the EU ecodesign regulations. They bind manufacturers, importers and authorised representatives, not retailers, and give buyers no claim of their own. Runs in your browser, nothing is stored.

The EU ecodesign regulations set how long manufacturers, importers and authorised representatives must keep spare parts available, usually seven or ten years after the last unit of a model. The calculator shows the end date per recipient, the delivery time and the parts list; sellers need this information under Directive (EU) 2024/825 where the manufacturer provides it.

How the calculator works

The period starts when the last unit of a model is placed on the market (for welding equipment, when the last unit is manufactured) and ends after the number of years set by the regulation. While a model is still being sold, the end is not fixed; the calculator then shows the earliest possible date from today.

What this means for your store

For goods without an EU repairability score, Directive (EU) 2024/825 requires information on spare parts, manuals and repair restrictions where the manufacturer provides it (repair information). All periods with parts lists are in the guide spare parts periods.
