Terms of use

For the obligation check, the EPREL lookup, the barcode check and the datasets of repairinfo.app. Translation for your convenience; the German version is authoritative: Nutzungsbedingungen.

1. Scope

These terms apply to the use of the free tools on repairinfo.app (obligation check, EPREL lookup, barcode check) and of the datasets of this website. The provider is MMR Labs GmbH, Carl-Benz-Straße 6, 89269 Vöhringen, Germany (“we”). These terms do not cover the Shopify app RepairInfoEU.

2. Service

The tools are free and need no sign-in. The obligation check and the barcode check run in your browser; the EPREL lookup queries the European Commission's EPREL database through our server. There is no entitlement to any particular feature set. We may change, develop or discontinue the tools.

If paid services are added, separate terms will apply, which you accept beforehand.

The tools are technical aids. They explain the law based on primary sources and make suggestions; they do not decide. We do not assess your individual case and do not provide legal advice.

Which repairability information you show in your store is your decision and your responsibility. This includes the accuracy of your answers in the obligation check and making sure that a registration number or barcode belongs to the product you sell.

4. Third-party data

The EPREL lookup shows data from EPREL, entered there by the suppliers of the products. The barcode check shows data from the French repairability index published on data.gouv.fr. We give no warranty that this data is complete, correct or up to date. Responses from EPREL can be up to one day old; the barcode check shows the data as of the last retrieval, which the tool states. Compare the information with the manufacturer's documents before you publish it.

The French repairability index is a score under French law and not a repairability score under EU law.

5. Attribution when reusing data

If you reuse data you obtain through the tools, the terms of the respective source apply:

6. Datasets of repairinfo.app

The datasets under /daten/ are licensed under CC BY 4.0 unless marked otherwise. Please credit “repairinfo.app, MMR Labs GmbH”. The French repairability index data under /daten/indice/ is an exception: it remains under the Licence Ouverte / Open Licence 2.0, with attribution as in section 5.

7. Availability and fair use

The EPREL lookup only works while EPREL is reachable. There is no entitlement to any particular availability. Please do not use the tools or the datasets in a way that impairs operation, for example through automated mass requests. We may limit or block such access.

8. Liability

We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health and under the German Product Liability Act. Otherwise, liability is excluded to the extent permitted by law. We do not cover fines, contractual penalties or costs of warning letters that you incur because of the information in your store.

9. Changes to these terms

The version shown on this page at the time of use applies. Changes are recorded in the changelog.

10. Final provisions

German law applies. If you are a consumer, this choice of law applies only insofar as it does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory provisions of the country in which you have your habitual residence. If you are a merchant, a legal entity under public law or a special fund under public law, the place of jurisdiction is the provider's registered office.
