Dishwashers have no EU repairability class. Since 27 September 2026, sellers to EU consumers must give before purchase the information the producer makes available on spare parts, manuals and repair restrictions (Article 6(1)(v) of Directive 2011/83/EU as amended by Directive (EU) 2024/825).
Under Regulation (EU) 2019/2022, manufacturers must keep parts for professional repairers for seven years and parts for end users for ten. France applies its repairability index to dishwashers.

Seven or ten years: which parts customers can get
The regulation distinguishes by recipient. Door hinges and seals, other seals, spray arms, drain filters, racks and plastic accessories such as cutlery baskets and lids must be orderable by end users for at least ten years after the last unit of a model. Motors, circulation and drain pumps, heating elements, circuit boards, pressure switches, thermostats and software go to professional repairers for seven years, and the manufacturer may restrict them to registered repairers. Delivery is within 15 working days in both cases.
In your block, the end-user parts belong under “spare parts” and the rest under “repair restrictions”. Both periods start only with the last unit of the model, so the year has to come from the manufacturer. The duties fall on the manufacturer, and they give your customers no claim.

Spare parts information explains each of the five points, and the spare parts periods dataset covers every group.
Where the information comes from
For dishwashers, the French data is rich. The free barcode check finds many models by EAN with spare parts years, delivery time and a documentation link, because many datasets for the French index are published on data.gouv.fr. They come from whoever placed the product on the French market, which is not always the manufacturer, so it is open whether sellers elsewhere may use them as producer information. Where a model is missing, the manufacturer request asks for the five points. The dishwasher ranking shows which models score best.
On the Essential plan, the Shopify app RepairInfoEU matches each product’s barcode with this data; on Pro it checks the whole catalogue in one pass. Spare parts years and manuals arrive as a suggestion with their source, and the store shows only what you confirm.
Right to repair and France
Dishwashers are No. 2 in Annex II of Directive (EU) 2024/1799, so the manufacturer must repair them at the consumer’s request, within the scope of the ecodesign regulation. In France, the repairability index, a score out of ten, appears next to the price with the sub-scores one click away. It is French law and not an EU repairability score. The French repairability index covers selling into France.
Frequently asked questions
Can a customer order the circulation pump?
Not necessarily. Pumps are among the parts the manufacturer only has to supply to professional repairers and may restrict to registered ones. If the manufacturer tells you so, it belongs on the product page as a repair restriction.
May I use the spare parts years from the French data?
That is open. They may be producer information, but the party placing the product on the French market is not always the manufacturer. RepairInfoEU only takes them over once you confirm the suggestion; that is a decision of the app.
Who repairs if the manufacturer is outside the EU?
Its authorised representative in the EU; failing that, the importer; failing that, the distributor (Directive (EU) 2024/1799). If you import dishwashers yourself, the duty can land on you.
